My name is Samantha Szykowny. I graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest, IL. I am currently a sophomore Nursing major at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL. I chose SXU for nursing because it was the first accredited baccalaureate nursing program in the state of Illinois and is the only school in Illinois to be recognized as a Center of Excellence by the National League of Nursing. I am taking an Art 100 class as a requirement to fulfill my degree in Nursing. The only creative background I have has involved coloring with crayons and markers from toddlerhood to about 5th grade. I also had to take a Intro to Art class in high school that involved sketching, drawing, and shading and I barely passed. Hopefully the second time around I can get it right.
